Our Publication House
The Bhagavad-Gita Publication house has published several books on the Bhagavadgita and textbooks for children which are not known to be available in the country as of date. Some of them are as under:
User-friendly National and International Editions of the Bhagavad-Gita.
The Bhagwad-Gita is the only Holy Scripture in the world that is believed or claimed to have emanated directly from the mouth of God, and not through the media of angels and prophets. And yet it is not so well known in the world and not well-read in India due to its right user-friendly editions not being available.
There is no dearth of editions of the Gita or, more appropriately, the Bhagwad-Gita or the God's Song. However, most of them are personal interpretations or commentaries by different sects of Hinduism, often quite big in size, not-easy to carry. The ones most easily available in India are published by the Gita Press which has done a great service by publishing inexpensive editions. However, the user-friendly editions that a sincere seeker with a modern education, or even with just a reverent but curious mind, would love to have for day-to-day guidance without sectional interpretations, and with a good presentation, are still not to be found in the market.
The Bhagwad-Gita is the most widely acclaimed book of its class and is found superior by international celebrities to all other scriptures in its thought content and exalted ideas. Yet, unfortunately it is not well marketed across the world in a contemporary language and idiom. Not even in India. The BCK has established a separate publication house as its subsidiary unit called BHAGVAT-GITA PRAKASHAN to publish various books on the holy Gita. The Bhagvat-Gita Prakashan has prepared the design of an edition that we have all been waiting for all these decades. Study this design and if you feel convinced that yes, this is what is needed to win the hearts and minds of the Indians and of the other people of the world, come forward to join us in the preparation and publication of this edition, or editions: some for different economic groups in India, and others for the world at large - national and international editions.
The BCK plans to publish an edition that will have the following features: it will have an alphabetical List of emotions like anger, sadness, fear of death of self or a relative, shock, envy etc. and the reference of the verses which may allay those emotions and give relief and happiness; it will have a directory listing all words used in the Gita with reference of the verses in which they have occurred, enabling the seeker to locate the verse of his choice based on the recollection of any of the words used in that verse; it will have another alphabetical directory listing the various spiritual and temporal issues like moksha (liberation), world peace, terrorism; corruption, bribery, bhakti, gyan, yagya, tapasya, to name a few. In the Indian languages it will have three editions: one subsidized edition for the poor for Rs. 5 or 10, one for the middle class for Rs. 50; and a deluxe edition for Rs. 200 or 300. The international edition will be in English at first, priced tentatively around 10 to 20 US dollars. The profit from the higher cost editions will be used for publishing the editions for the poor.
There is another basic edition of the Gita ready for publication which is meant for free distribution in India, in Hindi to begin with. A second book ready for free distribution initially, is Gita Ki Kahani (The Story of the Gita), which explains the concepts of the Gita through a cosmic story.
